Big Brother 2006 Housemates

This 6th season of Big Brother started the same as BB4 and BB5, the HMs went into the House night before the live TV launch. It started on April 22, 2006 when the HMs went in and aired on Ch10 from April 23, 2006 and ended on July 31, 2006. It ran for 100 days.

To the right is the logo used for Big Brother 6.

Beside each HM is a reminder of who they were in the house to help you remember them, or what they are doing now. More information about the HMs will be added soon if available.

HMs are listed in order of Eviction.

If you find information that is incorrect, or if you know where a past HM is nowadays or have some info to add, feel free to contact site admin'.

This series saw more HMs than any other enter the house. There were 3 Intruders sent in during week 4, another 3 Intruders entered in week 9 and 2 replacement HMs entered the house in week 12 after 2 of the original HMs were kicked off the show for seriously breaching the rules.

The series also enabled viewers with Internet access to subscribe to Live Feeds from the house, 24/7. The Fines system was also back again, with each HM being fined $5,000 each time they broke rules such as not wearing microphones, not carrying out a task when asked to do so, but this time they also weren't allowed to refer to Big Brother with such words as 'BB', 'Big Bro', or even 'Dude', they were to call him 'Big Brother' and nothing else, if not then they were fined. HMs were also not allowed to talk while Big Brother was talking, regardless of where they were and who they were talking to, HMs had to stop talking when Big Brother made an announcement.

Public Voting Changes:
In previous BB series, public were only able to vote for who they wanted to be Evicted, but in BB6 the public could also vote for who they wanted to save. After voting closed, the 'save' and 'evict' votes for each nominated HM were merged and the HM with the highest percentage of 'evict' votes was then evicted, or the HM with the lowest number of 'save' votes was. This led to much confusion and left people wondering how the votes and percentages were tallied up.

New House Design:
The BB6 house was a totally new design and was beautiful, both inside and out in the yard. It also included a new feature, the Punishment Room (PR). If housemates broke the rules and made Big Brother unhappy, they would be sent to the PR to perform meaningless tasks such as dancing to annoying music while wearing a dress (male HMs), counting pins, washing dishes or even just standing in one spot and staring at a red dot. HMs were also fined if they didn't carry out the PR task as required.

The Secret of the related HMs:
This was billed as a 'World First' but eventually was named an 'Australian First' where 2 of the HMs were Mother and Daughter. Karen and Krystal were sent in without the other HMs knowing about their relationship, after Krystal had her appearance changed with new hair colour and clothing fashion so she wouldn't resemble her mother as much. Another HM was chosen by the public in the first week, out of 2 HMs, which one would be the 'Insider' who then had to carry out a few small tasks to play tricks on other HMs, but then had one week to find out who the 'related HMs' were or face eviction. Michael was the one chosen as Insider but he failed to get even close to the right guess, despite trying to strike up a relationship with Krystal, he didn't realise he was so close to passing his task. Krystal and Karen passed their task easily but this only left Michael in a bitter mood which led to a lot of #OOPS#ing behind backs. Karen and Krystal gained eviction immunity for the following week for passing their task.
